I was born, raised, and educated in California, where I studied anthropology and documentary filmmaking at UCLA, then spent a few years in Los Angeles making behind-the-scenes featurettes for low-budget films before moving to Boston. I currently work as a video producer at Boston University.

My principal job at BU is to create video content for their online communications outlets: BU Today, Bostonia Online, and the BU Research website. To date, I’ve been sent to thirteen different countries on five continents to produce videos. Some evidence of this can be found in the video section of this site. Boston University has also seen fit to grant me an MFA in Fiction Writing, and somehow allows me to teach Science Journalism master’s students how to produce science videos.

Shortly after moving to Boston I got swept up in the craft cocktail Renaissance, and consequently spent a lot of time in bars talking about—and drinking—cocktails. (I spend a little time tinkering in my kitchen with them as well.) To follow my adventures writing about the Periodista cocktail, please visit the blog section of this site. I would encourage you to read the tales in chronological order, perhaps with the help of the table of contents.
